After years of living inland, retired couple Barry and Teresa Eaton are once again embracing the coastal lifestyle — this time at Baker Estates’ Estuary View development in Appledore, North Devon.
Having spent 14 years living by the sea in Spain, the Eatons eventually returned to the UK, settling in Wiveliscombe, Somerset. But it wasn’t until a spontaneous day out with their dogs in Appledore that they rediscovered their love for seaside living.
“We took the dogs for a day out in Appledore last year,” Teresa recalls. “After a walk around the harbour and lunch at The Boathouse, we looked at each other and said, ‘Why don’t we live here? It’s beautiful.’”

I even met Ian Baker, the Managing Director, on site and made a point of telling him how brilliant his team is.”
Now enjoying what they call their “third retirement”, the Eatons are delighted to be living by the sea once more, embracing coastal life with their beloved dogs.
“This is exactly where we want to be — it feels like home,” Teresa added.
