Two Honiton charities have received sizeable donations from a Southwest housebuilder.
Ian Baker, Managing Director at Baker Estates, handed over a cheque for £3,200 to Hospiscare and £3,200 to Honiton Dementia Action Alliance to support its on-going services.
In total, since 2019, Baker Estates has donated over £20,000 to local charities, donating money every time it sells a home at its popular Hayne Farm development in Gittisham.
Every year, Hospiscare supports over 2,000 people, and their families, living with a terminal illness across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Since its founding in 1982, the local charity has relied on the generosity of the local community, volunteers and regular donors. The charity needs around £8.4 million pounds each year to continue to help people and their families.

As a community focused housebuilder, we like to find ways of contributing to local charities, who are reliant on donations and work so hard to raise funding.”

These highly specialised practitioners give invaluable support to families and carers of people with dementia. Entirely funded by the community, donations like this are so important to us and for all the people touched by dementia that come under the nurses care.”
