School teachers Holly and Craig Veal are preparing for their dream move in September after reserving a brand new four-bedroom detached home at The Oaks, part of Baker Estates’ Hayne Farm development in Honiton.
The move marks a significant milestone for the couple, who are already well established within the community at the development. Since 2020, Holly and Craig have purchased four homes at Hayne Farm — first moving into an apartment before progressing to a three-bedroom townhouse and then another with a garage. Now, with a growing family, including their five-year-old daughter and eight-week-old son, the opportunity to move to a larger home within the same development proved irresistible.
Holly explained: “We were considering a bigger home due to our new arrival, but we didn’t want to move anywhere else. Hayne Farm has such a lovely community and we’ve built friendships here. It really feels like home.”
The couple were alerted to their next move when Baker Estates launched homes at the second phase of The Oaks and promoted a Part Exchange scheme.
“Baker Estates were advertising their new homes and we received a flyer promoting a 105% part exchange scheme which looked really attractive. It was perfect timing for us,” Holly continued.
They immediately enquired and their current home was independently valued by three estate agents, after which Baker Estates offered an extra five percent on top.
“The scheme worked so well for us,” said Holly. “In effect, Baker Estates has legally agreed to buy our current property and we hope to move into our new home in September when it’s finished. Part exchange cuts out the middlemen, agent fees and there’s no chain. It’s also less stressful and when you have a busy life and a young family that’s an important consideration.”
Holly added: “The Oaks is an exclusive part of the development, located in open space at the end of Hayne Farm, which gives us more room. It’s the next stage of our journey — who would have thought that we first moved into an apartment just a few years ago?”
The couple see their new home as their long-term future. Holly added: “This will be our fourth home at Hayne Farm and we see this as our forever home. We have been so impressed with how Baker Estates have supported us. We even recommended Hayne Farm to my parents, who have bought a house here too.”
Lifestyle benefits also played a key role in their decision. “It’s perfect for our family oriented lifestyle. The playground is right on our doorstep and anyone who has young children will tell you just how important that is,” Holly added.
Craig agrees that the location offers the best of both worlds. “Hayne Farm is the perfect location — just outside Honiton and it feels like you’re in the countryside. You really do get the best of both worlds.
“Baker Estates have been great over the years and supportive through different stages of our lives. We’d like to think we’ve been loyal customers in return. We now can’t wait to move into our new home and start the next chapter of our family journey.”
Annie Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at Baker Estates, commented: “We’re delighted that Holly and Craig have chosen to stay within the Hayne Farm community as their family grows. It’s wonderful to see buyers progress through different homes at our developments as their needs change.
“Our 105% Part Exchange scheme is designed to make moving as simple and stress-free as possible, and it’s fantastic to hear how well it has worked for the Veal family. We wish them every happiness as they prepare to move into their new home at The Oaks.”
Hayne Farm continues to attract buyers seeking a strong sense of community, countryside surroundings and convenient access to local amenities, making it an increasingly popular choice for families at all stages of life.
