BAKER ESTATES CONTINUE ITS SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITY NURSE IN HONITON

Baker Estates is proud to handover another cheque of £2,200 as the second tranche of sponsorship to the Honiton Admiral Nurse Campaign, providing vital support within the local area.

The award-winning house builder, is currently building 291 new homes in Honiton at Hayne Farm, and has committed to give £100 for every open market plot sold. When all homes are completed, Baker Estates will have contributed over £20,000 to support the worthy charity.

The Honiton Dementia Action Alliance proudly celebrated the appointment of their first Admiral Nurse, Fay Valentine back in April. Now eight months down the line, Fay has quickly become a valuable member of the community team offering her expert advice and guidance to families and carers of people living with dementia.

Heather Penwarden, chair of Honiton DAA, says 2019 has been an exceptional year for Honiton Dementia Action Alliance, not only were we presented with the Queens Award for voluntary organisations but we saw our Admiral Nurse take up post two years earlier than first anticipated. We had set ourselves the aim of raising the required £150K over a three-year period but were absolutely delighted to meet our target within nine months.   This amazing effort has only been made possible by the generosity of our community and in particular Baker Estates who have committed to back our campaign over the duration of their building at Hayne Farm.  We are enormously grateful to Ian Baker and his colleagues for supporting us in this way and for taking such an interest in the valuable work our Admiral Nurse does in supporting families living with dementia in and around Honiton.

Ian Baker, Managing Director of Baker Estates has said “Supporting the Admiral Nurse Campaign has been an absolute privilege.  We, as a company, are proud to be a part of supporting such a valuable organisation in the local area.”
